I had no interest in the Super Bowl today.  The Steelers aren’t in it, so who cares? I was a little tricked by Todd, who initially said he didn’t care to watch it, but when it came game time, guess who was right on the couch yelling at the players? (It was Todd.)  He threw me a bone (pun intended), and would turn on Animal Planet’s Puppy Super Bowl for me every once in a while.  I was disappointed that I never saw a Chihuahua.

So, instead of watching something I have no interest in, I decided to get crafty today.  I made some magnets out of bottle caps Todd saved for me at work.  In one of the projects  I used Crafty Chica Dia de los Muertos charms (I snipped off the eyelets) and glitter.  On the other set I used little pebble-like things I bought in the scrap book aisle at Michael’s.

The bulk of my time today was spent on working on the Love Shrine to Zuzu I’m entering in the Crafty Chica’s Love Shrine Contest.  I’m not sure if I’m going to add more to it…I almost think I need to in order to have a shot at winning.  I used a Rmeo and Juliette cigar box as the base.  I painted the inside metallic pink and added pink glitter.  I added wooden ball feet that I painted metallic pink (I was pretty impressed with myself for how I figured out how to paint them without getting my fingers all over them and dry them so they dried uniformly – that picture is at the end.).  I cut out shapes from foam core for the top and sides, painted them metallic pink, covered them in pink glitter, added rick rack, ribbon, and flowers.  Zuzu’s picture and name at the top were both done using Shrinky Dinks.  The heart and name banner is pushed out on the top with a wooden spool.  I hung her picture using a small eyelet screw and ribbon.  I like it, but I think I may need to add more, but I don’t know what that more is right now.  If you have any ideas, I’d appreciate hearing them.
