I've lost my itch to stitch

Todd again. After moving to Naperville, I’ve lost my itch. I no longer have a venue to showcase what i’ve created. I can’t stitch something & wear it to work and be proud of it. I rarely get to wear “street clothes” anymore.
I’d like to do some random acts of embroidery/kindness, but not having any friends here makes it difficult.
Can someone give me a lil inspiration?

Glitterfied iPhone 4 Case

After reading Kathy Cano-Murillo’s book Miss Scarlet’s School of Patternless Sewing,

listening to Kathy on podcasts, and doing a little emailing back and forth,

I channeled her Crafty Chica style and glitterfied my iPhone 4 case…of course I even used Crafty Chica products!

I got the idea after seeing some that Kathy uploaded to her Facebook page. I hope she’s going to produce these for sale. Hers don’t

look bumpy like mine does!

Here are the Crafty Chica products I used:

Crafty Chica® Mojito Papers™

Crafty Chica® Extreme Embellishment Glue™

Crafty Chica® Glossy Gloss Varnish™

Crafty Chica® Little Chica Paint Packs™

Crafty Chica® Chunky Glitters™ (In Be-bop Black, Sunset Pink, and Sci Fi Silver)

I made glitter glue (after having seen Kathy do this on one of her YouTube tutorials) by mixing the Be-Bop Black with the Extreme Embellishment Glue. Since the case was smoke colored, I didn’t think it popped enough. So then I made up separate batches of Sunset Pink and Sci Fi Silver glitter glue and laid those down one at a time.
If I were to do this again, I’d lay the paper down first, because doing it after I put the glitter glue down made it lumpy. I tried getting it off, but some of the glitter stuck.
After letting the glitter glue dry, I used first the white paint and brushed it on to create a sweeping effect, and then I added the blue – heavier at the bottom, lighter at the top.
After all of that dried, I put on about seven coats of the varnish, letting each coat dry. It’s still bumpy, but it’s certainly unique!
