My sister in law April is the coolest sister in law in the world! No, seriously, she is. She’s always there for me. When I ask her for advice, she doesn’t just tell me what I want to hear; she tells me what she truly believes. She’s happy at my accomplishments, and she encourages me when I fail. No matter what, she’s always in my corner.
On Saturday and Sunday July 14th and 15th, she’s going to bicycle a combined total of 200 MILES with Richard’s Riders for Ride for AIDS Chicago. She and a team of riders, that also includes friend Erin, will bike from Chicago, IL to Lake Geneva, WI and back. They’ll bike 100 miles each day. They do it to raise money and awareness for HIV and AIDS.
She did it last year, and she’s doing it again this year. I asked her why, and she said, “I ride to erase the stigma of those living with HIV/AIDS. I ride for those who can’t, and I’ll continue to ride until we wipe this disease out.”
As of this writing, April raised $3,198.14, and, in total, $584,231.00 was raised! There’s still time to donate to this worthy cause.
Here are some pictures of April on the 2011 200 mile bike ride.
