- The picture above is from Halloween 2009 when Todd and I went as Zombie Prom King and Queen.
- On September 21st, Todd and I are going to participate in Run for Your Lives: Zombie 5K Obstacle Course Race.
- We’re both pretty excited about this, although neither of us is in very good shape!
- By participating, we’re going to ask people to sponsor us so we can raise money for Rancho de Chihuahua.
- Each person starts out with four “lives”, which are flags on a belt.
- While running, climbing, and crawling, we’ll dodge zombies who try to take our lives.
- If you pass the finish line with at least one life left, you’re still human.
- If you pass the finish line with no lives left, you’re now a zombie.
- We had our choices of several waves (times when you start). I chose 11:00 am for a couple of reasons: 1) It’s still early enough in the day that it won’t be too warm, and 2) Here’s where my brilliance shows: The first zombie wave is from 8:00 am – 11:20 am. I figured that by 11:00 am, those zombies would have started to get tired, thereby giving us an advantage!
- I need to figure out how to allow people to sponsor us online. I think PayPal has an option, but I also don’t want too much money to have to go back to whichever website hosts our online sponsorship.
- When the weather starts to get nicer here (there’s still a lot of snow on the ground), Todd and I will start training outside. There’s a forest preserve near our house that will provide good climbing, running, and crawling opportunities.
