#ThankStitching No. 1 with Jessica Long
#ThankStitching is a series of daily posts (and hourly posts on Thanksgiving) in the month of November in which needle artists from around the world submitted to me why they are thankful for their particular needleart.
Jessica Long of Namaste Embroidery
On November 1, 2014 I became a mom and that day currently ranks as the best day of my life. After the birth of my son I put my career on hold and became a full time stay at home mom. When he was about 10 months old, my hands and heart started itching for something to create, and I discovered hand embroidery. During my son’s nap times (when I’m not also napping!) I get the opportunity to retreat into my studio and enjoy the meditative process of stitching. I find I am a better mother and a better person when I get this creative time to myself!
