#ThankStitching No. 14 with Amy Rodriguez

Amy Rodriguez

I’m thankful for counted cross stitch because it is simply my therapy. Having bipolar disorder and anxiety it’s not always easy to grab therapy when it’s needed. Cross stitching gives my brain something to focus on, something to control, something to look forward to completing. Knowing that each stitch will ultimately lead to a completed project focuses my thinking and calms me. I can get lost in it for hours. It’s construction instead of destruction and it’s helped me immensely.

#ThankStitching is a series of daily posts (and hourly posts on Thanksgiving) in the month of November in which needle artists from around the world submitted to me why they are thankful for their particular needleart.
