#ThankStitching No. 37 with Kate Hart
I’m thankful for needle arts and crafts because much like holiday traditions, they connect me to my family. From my mother’s cross stitch to Grandma’s dollhouse decor, Granny’s embroidery to my great grandmothers’ quilting, I’ve never lacked a teacher. Thanks to them, I have a solid base of skills that have allowed me to expand into all sorts of crafts, even outside of fabric and thread — and other ways to express myself creatively when writing fiction for a living has worn me down. Our common thread is just another way to tell our story, and I’m grateful that it ties our generations together.
