Stitching has always been a part of my life in some way. My mom was an avid cross-stitcher when I was a child, and I learned to use a sewing machine at a very young age. I loved sewing funky outfits for my dolls, and designed my own set of handmade stuffed animals. It wasn’t until early 2015 that I tried my hand at embroidery, but I knew instantly that I had found my passion! Since then my passion has grown, and so has my family (I am now the lucky mama of 3 little boys!) Embroidery is the perfect art form for a busy mom, because it is so portable and a project can be picked up or set down at a moment’s notice. It is also the perfect medium to ease stress and anxiety! This is why I am so thankful to have discovered embroidery. The slow, steady nature of hand stitching provides a sense of order. This calming effect makes the craziness of OCD, anxiety and “mom life” so much more manageable.

#ThankStitching is a project to collect and curate reasons why stitchers worldwide are thankful for their particular needle craft. Look for daily posts in November with hourly posts on Thanksgiving Day.
