#ThankStitching No. 46 with Floresita Hernandez
I’m incredibly thankful for having stitching be such an integral part of my life. When I first began posting my embroidery on the internet, I remember how exciting it was to find like-minded people who love to create and craft. Everyone I’ve met is so generous with their compliments, talents, and time. My embroidery has really grown over time as well – I like the way people from across the globe can so easily reach out to each other to share ideas and patterns.
When my brain is full, and my cares are many, nothing soothes me more than a stitching project. And it’s always inspiring to stitch in public and see just how many people are fascinated by what I do and inspired to try out stitching of their own. Stitching was once something that was referred to as “a woman’s place” but I like that our generation has had the opportunity to redefine that phrase. It is indeed our place, regardless of gender, and it’s a space we can use to inspire and express our thoughts and create. I know for a fact my life wouldn’t be where it is today if it wasn’t for stitching.
Happy ThankStitching all! 🙂
#ThankStitching is a project to collect and curate reasons why stitchers worldwide are thankful for their particular needle craft. Look for daily posts in November with hourly posts on Thanksgiving Day.
