I have been cross stitching since I was 10 years old. While I love many forms of craft, I find cross stitching to be the most rewarding and enjoyable. It is the physical embodiment of “Slow and steady wins the race!” I am thankful for the time – hours and hours – to sit and calm my racing mind. I greatly value the peace I find when I am forced to be still. It is something I have difficulty achieving in any other way.

I am also extremely thankful to have found an outlet to express my style and humor. It is so rewarding when other people find and enjoy my finished pieces. Not only does it validate my hard work, but it helps me feel a sense of camaraderie. If you look closely, I’m just a girl made up of teeny tiny Xs.

#ThankStitching is a project to collect and curate reasons why stitchers worldwide are thankful for their particular needle craft. Look for daily posts in November with hourly posts on Thanksgiving Day.
