When I heard about the Art Parade in Rockford, I knew I wanted to be a part of it! The concept was that art would be brought into the public eye with an art parade that would wend its way through the streets of downtown Rockford on Friday, June 13, 2014 during the Rockford City Market. My friend Sarah was getting a group together with the theme, “Day of the Dead,” for her group. As a participant in the Art Parade, I was given the opportunity to show a piece at the Rockford Art Deli, too. Given my love of Alexander Lieberman’s, “Symbol”, and iconic sculpture at Sinnissippi Park in Rockford, IL, I knew that’s what I wanted to embroider and show. I chose three different views of Symbol. I like looking at things from different perspectives since I see something different every time. Here is the link to the original post I did about this event.
